Purchased this gun use when I thought FT/R might be for me. Since i owned it's been cleaned as intended and never got to hot. While it's shockingly and amazingly accurate for a factory gun, it simply sits in the back of the safe while I shoot BR stuff. @Bill Norris and I worked up a load using 168SMKs and never moved from it given what it produced. Target pictured was shot by Bill during development. It's held sub MOA all the way to 1000. Currently has a Burris XTR II 8-40 on it. I'll share load data with buyer.

For a factory build this rifle would be very hard to beat. I was amazed at how easy it was to tune a load with the Sierra 168 gr. MKs. Great seller no doubt. Always shoots straight whether shooting or talking.

Have thoroughly enjoyed its close cousin, the Model 12 LRPV. Mine is in .223 and a lot of fun out to 500 yards. The single shot target action rifles comprise some of the “ upper end “ Savage rifles. When the Savage haters come out, I get the impression that they’re not thinking about these class of Savage rifles. Pretty good bit of distance between these guns and the Axis lines.

The modified case made from a fired piece of brass is more accurate than the genetic cases offered by hornady. You have to drill and tap the fired case to fit the tool.
