Speer Impact 140 grain, bonded, polymer tipped.

I’m curious about these bullets. I just ordered a couple boxes to develop a load for rifle I use as a loner, 6.5 creedmoor Tikka. Typically I’ll use a partition or ballistic tip when I know my shots won’t be past 350-400 yards, shots beyond that I use a 140 Berger VLD hunter or 143 ELDX. I’m happy with all of those bullets and how they have performed on big game. I’m also a big fan of Speer bullets, after seeing these, I think they’ve been offered for a couple years now, I decided I wanted to try them. Any of you have any experiences with them on big game, if so, what did you think? It’s bonded and tipped and some of reports I’ve seen look like a good performing bullet. Plus, I get curious when I see bullets I haven’t personally tried. Link below to the bullet I’m asking about.

I’ll try them out, may use them in big game this year. I didn’t realize they were tipped either, maybe I’ll get a chance to see what they do on a big game hunt or two. Just curious.
I have no idea but from the literature the Impact bullet appears to be better constructed than the Sierra Gamechanger.

Sounds like a hybrid version of the Gold Dot/Fed Fusion bullet design with a plastic tip.

From Federal site, Terminal Ascent
  • Match-grade long-range accuracy in a bonded hunting bullet
  • Extremely high ballistic coefficient
  • Exclusive Slipstream polymer tip helps flatten trajectories and initiate low-velocity expansion
  • Less wind drift and drop
  • AccuChannel groove technology minimizes drag
  • Copper shank and bonded lead core retain weight for deep penetration at any range
From Speer site, Impact bullet
  • Molecularly fused jacket maximizes weight retention and improves accuracy
  • Slipstream polymer tip increases downrange energy and initiates low-velocity expansion
  • High ballistic coefficients for flatter trajectories and better long-range performance
  • Close-range penetration and long-distance expansion
  • Competitively priced
They sound very similar to, to me.

The gamechanger has an expansion cavity behind the tip, while not bonded it sure performs like bonded due to the thick jacket. Here is a cross section of the two. I'm sure the speer is great, but you can take my sierra's from my cold, dead hands. The Sierra's are also a lot cheaper.
