Specific Heat of Reloader 26

Does anyone know what specific heat value I should be using for RL26 when using the barrel life calculator on the website?

Looking for Kj/kg value.

Thanks

No idea about RL-26 but...

RL-15 = 3,990
RL-17 = 3,990
RL-19 = 3,980
RL-22 = 3,990
RL-25 = 3,810
RL-33 = 3,900
RL-50 = 3,820

I would take a wild ass guess at 3,900 for RL-26

I found this Quickload info posted over on Longrange Hunting forum for RL-26.

heat of explosion: 3905
ratio of specific heats: 1.2303
burn rate factor: 0.3397
pro or degressive factor: 2.7392
pro burning limit: 0.606
factor b: 2.5983
solid density: 1.600

This might also be useful... posted recently on another thread by someone else but thought I'd share here also.

Bart, here's the link to the barrel life calculator in question...

Thanks for the link.

That's my powder heat index table I made some years ago after learning about powder heat indices.

Mike Crawford's excel calculator is based on my standard for bore capacity and it's the only standard I know of. Mike mentions my name whom he got it from. My base formula is a good cake then he put good icing on it. He used about 10% to 15% longer barrel lives than I based on using his formula.

He has an update for it that he'll email you. Contact him for details.
