Southwestern PA ground hogs

My son and I went out Saturday afternoon to a new spot. I forgot my click chart for the 6.5-284 so I had to shoot more rounds than nessassary. I had 4 hits and 3 misses in the 350-550 yard range and after 6 or 8 shots I tipped one over at 972 yards. The farmer and my son took turns spotting for me with my ''bigeyes'' I used 8x for the closer shots and 18x for that long one. Visibility on the long shots was bad due to the sun glare at 2 o'clock sweat in my eyes and the hogs were in a shady spot next to a tree line. Total count this year is 11 for me and the kid has 11.

Mike CT. I have a trued Rem 700 jewell trigger, 30'' 5C Broughton barrel Shehan tracker piller bedded, 8-32x Nightforce w/20moa bases.
I usually load 50gr. RL22 140gr Amax @3000fps. I built the rest this past winter and it works very well especially when your hunting different fields and need to swing fast.

I'm using a rem 700 vssf with a customised trigger I did pulls about 1 lb it has a bedding block but it's glass bedded also and I have a burris 6x24x50 black diamond on it.The longest shot this year with this gun is 820 yards that makes 163 chucks this year. I use win brass with the necks turned primer pockets uniformed and flash hole deburred I use cci br primers and 37.5 grns of rel 15 with a 55 bal tip moly coated vel 3866fps.
