Source of mat black prefit barrel

After my bil saw and shot my 22-250, he wants to put a 22-250 barrel on his Savage 110fp(308). So I'm looking for a varmint weight barrel blue or or the flat black of the factory barrel. I have a solid pilot Manson reamer, that would like to use. Oh, chrome moly. BIL would like a Shilen, but open to suggestions.

Does he want blued or flat black just for aesthetics? A stainless barrel on a blued action looks really nice.

You can get a CBI stainless barrel with optional nitride treatment that is black, like many of the stainless actions are finished.

Talked to Northland, Shilen won't use my solid pilot reamer. Emailed Ragged hole barrels haven't heard back, would have coat their Wilson barrel. My smith has a long list of shoulder barrels to cut, but a prefit he said we could do it some evening.

I've got a Savage varmint weight factory take off that I bought on here from another user. I can double check, but I think it is 26" 1:14 twist, 22-250 of course.
I have never shot it, don't think I ever will. I'd sell it for $100 shipped to the lower 48.

Paint it one with black grill paint. I did an AR barrel and it's passibly good. !fter all it has a finite life.

Shaw used to sell blued pre-fits. I got one thru Midway years ago for a 257 Roberts. Not the best quality but "hunter" accurate at about .750 moa with handloads.

There you go, get the barrel from Kimber.204 (Check shank size) ,spray it like Knotwild suggests and you’ll have a good shooter. I was able to get a Savage 22-250 varmint contour barrel to consistently hit 5 @ 100 1/2” or better with Berger bullets. They do copper, PatchOut soaks takes care of that.

Krylon is your friend - Inexpensive, available everywhere, wears good, easy to touch up if you manage to mar it, either Satin or Matte Black depending on what type of finish you are wanting to match or compliment.
