Source for curved sand-to-fit butt plate?

Working on these M40 clones and looking for sand to fit butt plates. We have a Remington plate that fits the curve, but the stock would need quit of bit of work, that would never end up looking right, to make it match the perimeter. Certainly there's a source for cheap rubber butt pads?

I bedded the steel one I fit earlier this week. Relieve the wood inside the edge. Fit as close as you can. Then bed.

Yes, thank you! I've done it with a heat gun but I knew there was a different and better method. Just didn't come to me before I posted.

That would look great. Certainly unique. I have some brass flat bar buried somewhere. I wonder if it would fit.
