Source for 6BRX full-length dies

I looked around at the usual suspects (Sinclair, Midway) to see if anyone has full-length dies for the 6BRX. I'd like to buy a stock one if possible, rather than the time (and cash) for a custom one from fired brass. Is anyone making them?

I've already got a body die (and various ways to size the bottom .100") but I'm really looking for a full-length die since I'm working on switching to a match rifle for HP matches, and I'd like to full-size my brass for the rapid fire stages.

I load my 6mmbrx on A Dillon Progressive Press. Never had an Issue. I don't use the Dillon Powder measure. I use Redding 6mmBR dies backed our .098 and a body die with the top end bored out. I also recommend John Whiddens floating die tool heads.

Mike Davis www.daviscustomrifle.com has a die reamer for 6BRX. He made mine a few years back. He used a Newton blank, and I had it Tin low temp coated, just like the neck bushing. www.northeastcoating.com All that run over $200, more now I guess. I Think Hornday can make a custom die.
Before I got the custom die. I first hit the base with a 7mm-08 f/l die, hard on the shellholder, them bump the shoulder 0.001" with a body die, them the neck with a Wilson neck die. The last two steps could be done with a 6BR S F/L bushing die. I shot 3 IBS 600 yds records using these dies. It works just as well., but takes longer

I understand where you are coming from, I have a set of Forster 6br dies and there set for my 6brn I don't want to change them, so I need to buy another set of dies for my 6brx I am building I thought about it and figured it was stupid if I had to purchase a set of dies why not sped a little more and get dies that resizes them correctly with no messing around, my first stop was Neil Jones he promptly emailed me back with a (can do) I just haven't ordered them yet as I don't know if I want one or two seating dies.

What kind of bushings does it use? and where can you get them?

The die uses both Wilson or Redding bushings. Readily available from Sinclair, Midway, Hayden Shooters Supply, Bruno`s to name a few sources.

I need similar setup so to start with so my smith is going to cut off a 6mmbr body die which I hope to use for the base. I'm not sure that it would be needed every loading but will mic it to check. I have heard that after a few firings the head may work harden enough to eliminate a need for frequent use of this die, but will check accordingly. May go to a small base die cutoff if there are sizing issues with the standard body die(cut off). Otherwise, I am planning on a "regular" 6mmbr die(fl with bushings) for the rest. Not sure if there will be transition issues between the two dies, but will likely at some point have a die reamer made for the 6mmbrx chamber reamer and go to a single die.

Simple just get a Dasher you have a case that is esentualy the same capacity and dies are available. i would not use the BRX because of the die issue i have been using a Dasher since they were custom order dies and now even Forster makes an off the shelf die for them.

You know wild Bill If everybody ate corn flakes ONLY the cereal isle would be pretty boring!
Right know everybody that's anybody is shooting a dasher,which is fine but if those same shooters were shooting a 30/30 winchester then that's what would be winning I never have been much of a follower and the reason I reload and build guns is for the excitement of making it shoot. I already know what it takes to make a dasher shoot, I can read the exact powder,bullet,primer combo on any one of a few dozen sites and load it in a brand new rifle and head for a competition and stand a good chance of winning. Its kinda like nascar, all the cars have the same HP and they all will go the same high speed, as long as there are no wrecks or break downs the first car out of the chute is going to win..BOARING
Anyway good luck with your dasher and I hope to see you on the line maybe my little brx will give you a run for your money

Wild Bill, If you start with the die for the caliber and have your chamber reamed accordingly, then you should have a good combination. If you start with the chamber selected by your gunsmith, it may or may not be compatible with off the shelf dies. If your chamber is on the small side, you will not be able to size properly with those dies(guess how I know that) and custom or semi custom dies(ie: Harrells) will be necessary anyway. On the other hand, if the off the shelf dies work, it is possible that you are oversizing below the shoulder and toward the base with possible shorter case life. I do not particularly mind case forming in the off season, but it is largely a PITA and not making your cases stretch(pun intended) throughout the season without prepping a new set puts additional round count down your match barrel(for final fire forming).

At any rate, I picked a 6mmbrx because my smith had the reamer and every barrel reamed with that shot well with good barrel and case life. I just resigned myself to using my 2 die sizing system noted above(which my smith is honing for proper fit) and may get a custom die made from fired cases or die reamer made from my smith's specs later. There are many ways to skin a cat(although I have not seen any published nor have I felt the urge to do so).

Just recently picked up a new chambering in 6BRX, my first BRX, after 5 6BR's, and am using all the existing 6BR die's. Have a 1/10" spacer that is placed under the 6BR neck sizer and Forster seater die's lock rings, controlling headspace, bullet seating depth, etc. Simple.

Since it doesn't sound like anyone makes off-the-shelf FL sizer dies for the BRX... (and I was too slow on the offered die for sale, oh well.) Who would you recommend for a custom-made one?

Out of respect for you I waited several day's before buying the die. I would and still going to buy a set of dies from Neil Jones. Bob green makes a nice set also.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply otherwise, sorry about that. I was being indecisive, and when you said you wanted it, that was nudge enough against it.

Since then, I got my newly chambered barrel back from the gunsmith's, and the reamer that I ordered was just a smidge tighter than the chamber on my old barrel (came with the gun when I bought it), so it got me thinking about dies again. I'll look into those two. Thanks!
