Sorting bullets

In an attempt to improve the consistency of some (600) 75gr .224 A-Max bullets I'm going to sort them. What's the best way to go about it? Should I sort by weight or measure base to ogive and what tolerance could be put together?

Many thanks

What are you going to do with these in the end? According to how many matched bullets you need you may not have enough to sort. Id go shoot em i dont think youll ever see a difference on that bullet- sorting commercial bullets sometimes drops your confidence out the bottom

Dusty is probably on the money.

I don't think I would do it with the A-Max bullets, but if I did:

bearing surface measurement first, then weight.

Bearing surface is more important IMO.

This is my process on any BTHP bullet, especially SMK 107's which are very accurate in any of my 6mm's. I also use this process on my 180 grain and up BTHP's.

It would be an interesting test- sort them by base to ogive and see what the spread is. You can lay them in piles on butcher paper with the measurements wrote on it. Post the results here for us to learn.

Mistake on my part, I meant bearing surface measurement. I corrected it on my post.
