Lots of good songs but 2 bands and songs that have not been mentioned, Lynyrd Skynyrd's Saturday Night Special and Black Sabbath Iron Man. Both have had a hand in destroying my hearing.
Skynyrd among my top favorite bands along with The Eagles and ZZTop. I think my favorite Skynyrd song was probably Gimme Three Steps, can’t think about that one without remembering several dance halls in some small Texas townsLots of good songs but 2 bands and songs that have not been mentioned, Lynyrd Skynyrd's Saturday Night Special and Black Sabbath Iron Man. Same here, first thought was..."Powerful"...puts his heart into .The first time I heard I was shocked at the power pf the singers voice!
Went to Marshall Tucker concert a long time ago Charlie Daniels was the opening band. And then there is this, just awesome -
You guys have brought up a lot of bands that I still listen to. Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, everything that Warren Haynes puts out, specially Govt Mule, Eric Johnson, Robin Trower, Atlanta Rythem Section, Marshall Tucker Band, they actually opened for Charlie Daniels when I saw them, Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Joe Bonomassa, etc. Back in high school my first car was a 71 Chevelle. I had a Pioneer stereo with 7 band equalizer and 70 watts. Drove around cranking Deep Purple Highway Star. Oh can’t forget Pat Travers and UFO with Michael Shenker. I have a constant ring in my ears now!
First concert - 1979. Molly Hatchet was the headliner. George Somthinanother and the Dixie Dregs were warm up bands. Well George went on forever, by the time the Dregs came out, the dope smoke cloud was lowering and the hidden liquor was flowing and some jerk bounced a bottle off one of the band guys heads. Those that appreciate the talent of Steve N Seagulls, and other bluegrass artists. Who remembers all the talent in Dixie Dregs?
Alison Krause "Lucky One"; Uriah Heep"Stealin" ; Joe Bonamassa "Mountain Time" ;. Outlaws "Green Grass and High Tides" ; Bonnie Raitt "Angel from Montgomery" ;. Poco "Honky Tonk Downstairs"
Good one,big Joe fan here...really dig it when Beth Hart sings with him...
