A sound deflector.

I have something similar on my AR15. There is a slight bit more recoil with the can screwed on but less noise to the shooter and less than a standard flash suppressor. If I ever had to use it without hearing protection, it may save my hearing.

Noveske has a similar product. Anything to keep the blast away from the rest of us on the line is a good thing.

It still works as a brake, suppressor does also.
