SOMETHING I DON'T UNDERSTAND

I wouldn't buy another 22-250. As long as your going to spend a lot of money i would buy a caliber that's known to be very accurate. My 6BR 14 twist will shoot 58 gr bullets a little over 3600 fps without signs of pressure. Also have a 6BRX I have not shot very much easily get over 3700 fps no pressure. Krieger barrel 0.030" free bore. Would get zero FB 12 twist if I bought another barrel. It's a Rem 700. With just a few trips to the range with the Sierra 60 gr Varminter I have shot 1 group in the 1's and several below 0.250". No struggle to shoot just about any load under 0.500".
My 6BR is in the hands for the gunsmith. Just waiting for him to finish.

The 22-250 is a bit overbore but they are very effective one minute of gopher or coyote rifles. If you are looking for precision in a .22 a .222 Rem, .223 or 22 BR might be considered. Whatever you are shooting it takes a blueprinted action and great barrel and precision loaded rounds to squeeze the finest accuracy out of the combination.

Nick,

How does that 22-250 shoot? I ask this because like you, I have a remington 700, in 22-250. My rifle has near 4K + rounds down the pipe. When I started shooting 600yard varment shilouette I was .012" off the lands with 55 berger FB match bullets. Now I have no idea where the lands to ogive measurement is, but the rifle still shoots sub moa all day long. I have just under .035" of the bullet seated in the case. If it shoots it is not an issue.

YMMV
