Somebodys gotta know!

i'm looking for my middle son's first rimfire he's 7 and loves to shoot his 10 yr old brothers 22lr, he wants to be like dad and see's all my long range rigs, so i can't just go buy him a chipmunk without him thinking dad went cheapo on him.. now i've seen some pretty trick little rimfires at gun shows but cant remember who makes them, their small around the size of a chipmunk but look alot more tricked out does anybody know who makes cool little rimfires?

The issue will be the lenth of pull more than anything else. If you are willing to shorten the stock, I would think the CZ 452 American with the 16.5' barrel would be a great first gun. Bolt action and can be loaded singly to to get hi to pay attention to each shot and sight enough for a 7 year old. Another possibility would be the CZ 452 Silhouette as the stock is synthetic and would be eaasier on Dad's senses to cut it rather than the walnut American model.

As an added plus, this model has a threaded muzzle so Dad could put a silencer on it at some time in the futher. I resisted buying a silencer for years and now that I ahve one, I wonder why I did not get one years ago!

Thanks guys for your time and input, but the ones i have seen at gun shows around here are really trick looking, heavy barrel skelatonized laminated thumbhole stocks no barrel channel, more like a race gun forearm, and i think one was chambered in 17 mach 2, no iron sites, and they were only like 215.00 with a scope, i almost bought one for myself just because they were such a cool looking little gun, hind site 20/20, now i can't find one anywhere, not even on the net..

I bought a bull barrel chipmunk target rifle for my grandchildren a couple of years ago. Target sights. I don't think that model is made anymore. It is very accurate, but hard to load and cock for a kid. I would not recommend it.

The guys over at rimfirecentral would probably be able to point you in the right direction faster than anyone else.

the fact that the henry mini bolt is made from SS has always interested me. And theres no reason a kid would not be happy with a chipmunk or minibolt
