Some people shouldn't reload

My 15 yo nephew is staying with me Thursday- Sunday. Saturday we will be shooting his first 100 yard rimfire matches(open and scope). Loading 223 is on HIS list of skills he wants to explore. Also he will see/use the shotgun loader, as he pheasant hunts. Guess I will know where he's at in the bell curve after a couple hours at the bench.
You will only discover how good you are as his mentor and if his ears are only painted on.

I was about 16, loading for a 700bdl in a 06,with the old Lee pound dies and scoop. Shooting off the hood of my jeep and pulled the trigger nothing, no boom. Ok, I just forgot to chamber a round, extracted the case put another round in and it would not chamber. I messed and fiddled and finally took it home and could see the ass end of the bullet stuck in the throat of the chamber. Must have loaded a round with no powder, primer went off but didnt hear it. I still get the willies thinking what would have happened if that bullet had gone just a little further into the barrel. Yea, I never forget that.
