Some more NEO-X soon

Why does the BR model use a counterbalance for a lighter rifle??

It’s a Mike Ratigan modification. Different way of supporting the weight of the rifle. He believes it to be better than the standard setup. I’m not sure Seb agrees.

I’ve used both. Honestly can’t detect any significant difference. YMMV.

It came straight to Ernie from Seb to me. not touched by anyone else, don't know where you got your info from.

The BR model is smoother than the standard, that is for sure.

Q: "Why does the BR model use a counterbalance for a lighter rifle??"
It's not about how light or heavy the gun is.
Without uplift springs + with almost no tension on (the internal of) the BR model, even a 5 lbs gun will (still) need a counterweight, to work perfectly. It's no different with, say for 65 lbs gun, the counterweight is there to balance the weight of the rifle on the top, and the joystick action would feel almost the same (with equal lightness, etc) as with the 5 lbs gun.

But again I will not recommend the BR version with counterweight for FClass.
You can trust me on this one. Just as you can see the fact that almost 99% any major FClass matches around the world have been won by the Champs using our standard front rest(s), not with the BR model. It's a solid fact/proof, and for many years. It's a "horses for courses" thing.

Thank you Seb for the clarification.

Im a big fan of the counterweight. I used different settings for my LV, HV and 17 pound gun. Works great and I do not hold the stick when I shoot.

I received my new Neo X last week. What a work of art. I was so impressed I ended up showing it off at work to a few shooters. My wife sent me the Gif of the Christmas story where the dad opens the lamp crate, because when she opened the door it’s a small wooden crate on my door step. Also I have been telling here for 3 days it should be arriving today. I wanted to say thank both Seb and Ernie for such a great rest. I had a wonderful talk with Erinie all about shooting and rifles.
Sincerely
Jason Montoliu

How long was the wait?

My wait was 11 months, and worth the wait.

So they’re running towards the long end of the delivery cycle. When I ordered in July after seeing the pics at start of this thread I had hoped the 6 month target would be a possibility. It was stated 7-11 months then but I had hoped production would step up some.. Thinking this just drove the demand higher seeing all those shiny colored parts!! Having a great product that’s in higher demand than availability can’t be a bad thing for SEB but sure does elevate customer anxiety!!

I am still trying to catch up with the demand, my goal is that the wait time can be less than 6 months starting at 2025.

With my Neo-X order placed July ‘24 am I looking at it shipping anytime before June? What percentage of price increase can be expected? Concerns obviously with the impending tarrifs and original quotes being outdated…

Please contact Ernie SEB-USA about your order, he knows better where you are now in the list, also for the retail price in the USA.
