Some dealers really suck.

Been noticing many dealers are now selling their primers and powder stocks at much inflated prices on Gunbroker while there website says out of stock. I guess they don't care about integrity and their customers. Believe me I have made a list and when this shortage is over I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM EVER!

Hey Tone: could you post your list here? I am sure many of us will NOT buy from them either if we know who those dealers are.. Thanks!!

I was at Gander Mt in Greenwood, IN yesterday and they had 3 lb of 4007 and didn't act like they were getting more powder or even wanted to get powder or primers. Have lots of guns so they must not want you to reload for them. I will look elsewhere for anything else I need. Their prices are also pretty high.

johnmyers,

At least your Gander Mnt. sells powder and primers......ours doesn't carry anything to do with reloading, zero, ziltch, notta......

If it wasn't for clothing and boots I don't think they'd be open.

One of the places that tried to gouge me was Able Ammo. they were quite up front about it. The customer service person said the price is fixed because they could get it. I thought their price was confused between a brick versus full case of 5 bricks. I will remember.

The worst by far is Great Lakes Outdoor Supply, followed by One Click Shooting in Fremont NE and Walsh Gun and Tackle in Casevillle MI just to name a few.

for example look at the price of primers now at Brunos

Last week I purchased bullets and powder at Bruno's North Phoenix store. I was pleasantly surprised with the pricing of these items. The Barnes bullets were new stock and the same price I paid a year ago. Powder was up a couple of $$ but not out of line and a lot better than most in the Valley.
Didn't price primers but will check next time I am out there.

Just my .02 cents
People bash the dealers who are taking advantage and jacking up prices and rightfully so. BUT they will go back to them even if they don't want to admit it at least most will
example:
Local Dealer - Sells AR-15 for $700 Before all this
Big shop - Sells AR-15 for $659 Before all this
During the Hike of the last 3 months when prices increased for all A LITTLE
Local Dealer - Sells AR-15 for $750
Big shop - Sells AR -15 for $1500
Now prices are returning and when they both go back to normal eventually most people will go back to buying the one that saves them $30-40 and they forget that both stores are probably making the same profit cuz the big guy gets more discount and they forget which one took advantage when they could.

All industrys do this.Look at big oil and all the bs reasons for major price hikes. But dont mention oil for gouging because you will get beat to a pulp on here due to employment status. It is the nature of commoditys like copper(scrap) is up to over 5.00 pound here in new york state, stay tuned for more price increases on bullets coming to you soon even on stock on hand.

I'm lucky. there's a little local shop near me that the owner wont let guys come in and buy everything up. nor is he way overcharging. he may be asking g a Buck or two more for a lb of powder but that's it. I was considering getting him a gift certificate to go out to dinner or something just to say thanks. he obviously knows he could sell the powder and primers etc he has for darn near whatever he wants. he just chooses to try and allocate them to the true sportsman that most of us are. not many people would choose the right thing over their own benefit.

Watch the prices on "gunbot.net". It is a great place to find ammo and now you can search for powder and primers. The GOUGERS jump off the page:print page and remember.............

Dragman - please don't paint all big shop/box retailers with the same brush. Not all have done what you're implying. In fact, some are doing just the opposite - maintaining reasonable prices while the little shops are jumping up prices. Don

I was in a shop last week and the manager was telling me about his primers, he said let me show you, he had 3 pallets 3'x4'x3' in the back room, but says he will only sell 1000 per customer, so all his customers can rely on him for primers

I was at one of our local small shops yesterday and picked up H4198 and H4895 for $25.95 per lb. with a limit of 2 lbs per customer per day. I didn't think that was a bad price considering what i have seen at some other dealers and the shipping charges from on line purchases.

You are correct I was only meaning to show an example of what I see close to me. I didn't mean it as a blanket statement so for that I was wrong.
The biggest thing I was trying to convey was that MOST people will save a buck when they can and they will quickly forget about the people that took advantage and go right back to them when there prices are a buck or two lower.
