Somchem S-321 Ball powder

Has anyone tried this powder in .308? The Somchem website lists this powder but very vague details about it. Data is only given for one load in 168gr and that's not for a OTM bullet. I can get large quantities of it.

I just vaguely recall hearing the Somchem name before, but it's been so long ago that I have no recollection of where I heard it. From looking at their line of extruded & ball powders on the website, it makes me wonder why someone hasn't started importing it into the U.S.

Based simply and narrowly on their quoted velocity ranges for .308, I don't see where they have anything special to offer over powders more readily available here. Unless they produce the same velocities at lower pressure(s) and/or cleaner burning, the cost of importing from South Africa might be cost prohibitive. Just my 2 cents.

Are you kidding me? With the current shortages of powders of all types, I'd think that importing another quality line of powders would be a good thing. Unless....somehow, the Obama administration is tacking more restrictions on importation of such commodities.

Here is some more info.

It is a double base ball powder. It is fast burning.

Here is a burnrate chart.
