So some 2000MR feedback

Over the past month in my region of southern NH there seems to be a decent consistent supply of Alliant 2000MR at my LGS's . This is a medium burn powder that (I was told) is suitable for heavy bullet .223 and up to 178 gr .308 . I shoot both so the 2000MR seemed to be a great fit for me. Did a little research and there's not a ton of data out there as of yet. I'm assuming this powder is somewhat new. I've spent some time doing some beginner load developments, and thus far been very pleased with the accuracy considering my novice shooting skills. My biggest plus is 2000MR is a ball powder so I am observing very consistent metering. Seems as my .308 Rem700 Varmint 26" 1-12 twist performs the best with 168 SMK's with a 43.5 grain charge. I've shot a best .411 and averaging about .82's @ 200 meters. I shoot a 5 shot group, and throw out 2 of the "novice shooter" fliers. So if any of you see 2000MR on the shelf, give it a try, I think you will be pleased (and again it's available ! ) . Tear up some paper ! Cheers,

Edit Forgot to add my chrono #'s (5 shot avg. )

168 smk 2000MR / 43.5 gr 2442 fps
168 smk 2000MR / 45 gr 2545 fps
168 smk 2000MR / 44 gr 2487 fps

The Alliant Power Pro series of powders all seem to come out of the St. Marks powder facility in FL, so I'm going to make a wild guess that it's highly likely that at least some of them are identical to some of the Winchester, Hodgdon on WC (military) powders that are available. Which ones those would be, I have no clue, though.

Seems some shooting heavier 308 bullets are getting more velocity with equal pressure compared to other powder. That is good when shooting long range

That was the word among the LRange boys at our club in Chas SC. last year. I bought a pound but haven't tried any yet.

I have been using PP2000 quite a bit as of late. It meters really well and I don't have to use quite as much in my Lake City cases to get good speed and accuracy. I used 45 grains under Sierra Matchking 155 Palmas. Shot a 5 shot group of .85 at 200 yards with it. I don't have a crono, but would guess it's about 2700 fps. I have used CFE 223 extensively as well. If I could get CFE 223, I would use it. I think pp2000 is very similar. It burns very clean and meters really well.

I'm shooting a custom .308, krieger 26" 12tw. I love this stuff....47.6 gr under 185 jug gives me avg of 2740. When seated for long jump, .090, I get SD of 4 and ES 9. Absolute tack driver with the 1000yd speed. No pressure signs until 48.4
