So I did the AR thing

This is my first ar. Last time I used one it was an m16 in the late 70s. So I thought I'd assemble one to get familiar. I bought a lower from my LGS all the rest is straight up AR Stoner stuff from Midway. Scope is a Vortex Strike Eagle 1x6 and the mount was free with it. I used a file, stone and dremel on the trigger and it still WAY SUCKS! Scope has a 556 BDC reticle with hashes to 600 LOL! I bought a box of 120 556 ball ammo and did the shoot one, clean one routine. Used a bunch of jb and a lot of elbow grease. Do you think I ever stopped fouling. NOT! Next I bought the Redding f/l two die set, 53 vmax, horn brass, cci br4 and Varget. Can't say I did a lot of load development. I haven't had it beyond 100 but excited to use that 600 hash on 6 power. LOL. Got about 200 rounds through it with zero malfunctions and it seems to do 3/4 to 1 moa. Which is better than I expected. Here's a couple 100 yard groups. Zombies beware!
That doesn't look like the AR you used in the 70's :-)

I don't expect to win any matches with this $300 1x6 power scope.
why, I won plenty with a $300 Vortex pst 1-4x24 shooting 2,3,and 600 yds. With service rifle/highpower/prone shooting, its the indian not the arrow.
Geisssle 2 stage or RRA 2 stage trigger. Make sure you have a free float tube, and keep your bolt carrier wet with lube you will have no problems.
depending on your barrel twist you want 1/9 stick with 77's or 75's, you can shoot them at 600 and do well.
1/8 or 1/7 shoot 80-80.5's loaded long.
For powder try varget, rl15, or 8208.
