Snap caps to 6mm Norma BR

Good question; I am also interested in 6BR snap caps.

I tried to make my own by pulling the soft plug from an A-Zoom snap cap and putting in the primer pocket of a 6BR case. The plug in the A-Zoom must be epoxied in place; I could not get it out without severly damaging it.

Another thought occurred to me which is to use a hot glue gun to squirt some glue into the primer pocket, leveling it while still hot, and wait until it sets. The glue becomes pretty hard but still has a bit of give. I worry that the "glue cap" might be hard on a firing pin since the glue is harder than the polymer used by A-Zoom.

If it were possible to cut perfect circles the size of the primer pocket of a 6BR out of inner-tube rubber, and stack the number needed to do the job, that would probably be OK. There are circle cutting die tools out there, but I don't know if there are any with the right diameter.

How about some creativity out there??

Fill primer pocket with automotive silicone. Turns into a semi gel state and should be perfect for cushioning your pin.

Thanks, Mike.

BTW, what's automotive silicone? ,I assume it's in a squeeze tube) but there are so many silicone/glue/gasket tubes out there how do I know I'm getting the 'right' stuff?

Permatex in a blue sensor safe squeeze tube.
