Snap Cap busted Rem 37 Firing Pin

To protect the rifle and chamber, I bought (supposedly "soft") steel snap caps off Amazon. They destroyed the firing pin.

FORUM BOSS: Rimfire firing pin contacts the RIM -- NOT the center of the cartridge. Those snap-caps are NOT designed for rimfires!!!!

The Amazon .22 LR snapcap is made from ALUMINUM. But even that may not be ideal.

Get the orange Lyman snap caps. I get them from Pistoleer.com. They are flexible plastic

These 37 parts were for a build that hasnt materialized yet .

Can't shoot the rifle without one. Please start looking. A guy on ebay sold me the wrong part. It wasn't cheap either. I returned it yesterday.

Here's a photo comparing my OEM firing pin with the one I bought off ebay.

Sorry for being so blunt this morning. I just got done spending 3 days looking for a part a mauser collector, just had to have , found 2 exactly what he wanted , then tried to renegotiate the price and got very rude . Its 90 degrees outside and moving heavy boxes isnt fun . So again Im sorry if I came off rude .

You may be able to rebuild the firing pin ass'y. I remember them being similar to the 40X, in that the firing pin tip is a separate part and can be replaced on the rest of the ass'y. If that's so, a drill blank of the correct size would probably work.
