Smallbore F Class National

Just checking the waters...Smallbore F Class (22LR)

How many shooters are actually going to attend the ASSA National and/ or the NRA Nationals?

I see all kind of folks out there posting with F Class 22's. Who's going?

Thanks again

I'd like to see these rifles.

Until your post I didn't know this existed.
What distance are you shooting?

Thanks!

Terry,

ASSA F-SBR is fired at distances of 50yd, 50m and 100 yds using single shot .22 rimfire rifles using any sights (metallic or optics). There are two (2) classes - open and TR and are determined by the type of rest. Open allows a benchrest type front base and rear bag, while TR allows a bipod and rear bag. (More details can be found in our F-SBR rules in Section 17: https://www.americansmallbore.com/uploads/9/8/9/9/98991026/assa_2018_rule_book_-_16_feb_2018.pdf)

The course of fire varies according to what Match Directors / sponsoring clubs want to conduct. As this is being developed in parallel with conventional small bore prone (fired at the same distances), many matches have a daily 1600 point aggregate. We also have other approved courses of fire (i.e. 800 aggregates, 1200 aggregates, etc.) Our national championships are fired over four (4) days for a 6400 aggregate.

As an example, the 1600 aggregate consists of:
  • 40 shots at 50 yards (A51 target)
  • 40 shots at 50 meters (A50 target)
  • 20 shots at 50 yards (A51 target)
  • 20 shots at 100 yards (A33 target)
  • 40 shots at 100 yards (A33 target)

ASSA established F-SBR national records staring in 2018.

Here is a link to the results from 2019, just scroll down for the F-SBR section.

You can see photos of the match and rifles here (scroll down past the heading of "2019 ASSA National Championships - Prone & F-SBR" - the first several photos after the awards section are of some F-SBR rigs and competitors)

Last year, ASSA awarded in excess of $1,600 in cash prizes in addition to national championship award plaques, medals and sponsor donated items (generously donated by Lapua, SEB Rests, SK, Sightron).

Best Regards,
Ken

I would like to go this year..but I don’t see me jumping on a plane anytime in the next 3-4 months..but who knows may havta make a looong road trip.

Rick

that box is my hydraulic unit housing that operates the windage adjustment on the front rest top.

These guns are very long so my front rest extends back a lot... all the controls are back as well.

I have a Seb rest also.. knob turning is more faster and more precise.

hope this helps
