Small primer 284 case

does anyone know of a small primer .284 case and it’s performance? If not…. Why not? … It worked pretty good for the .308

Not sure thats enough primer for a 30-06 capacity case, which the 284 is. This would really be a bad idea on low case fill powders. Also the .284 is a dandy just as she is so I doubt there are many looking to better it.

I run my shehane little faster than the .284 straight. I thought the primer pockets would last a little longer if a magnum small primer was enough to properly light the fire

Make some and you will sell them. Is a good idea? 40 to 45 grains of propellant is thought to be the reasonable limit of small primers. Some powders have ignition problems at cold temps in 308 sized cases. More powder means more potential problems.

Not knowing about your load, brass or how many shots you are getting (expecting) its hard to say why pockets are getting loose. I run straight 284 mildly with petersen brass and dont have nearly enough loadings to say on primer pocket life, but i'd guessblonger than i will be alive to shoot the brass life out. I bet there are many on here that can give a better understanding... especially with more info, if you are only concerned with primer pockets.
