Small caliber powder funnels.

Working with 17, 20 and 22 caliber brass can be a real pain at times. Loading powder can be a chore. Case won't fit tight in the base of the powder measure and you end up spilling powder when you remove the case from the measure spout.
Ordered up a set of Xtreme Hardcore Gear powder funnels. Designed to fit on the case neck. The base is machined with a step that rests on the case neck. They come in little draw string Velvet bags.
:cool: Figured there would do the trick.;)
Tried the 17 caliber funnel on my 17 VHA. Funnel won't fit over the case neck.o_O
Tried the 20 caliber funnel on my "20" TCM case. Funnel won't fit over the case neck.o_O
Tried the 22 caliber funnel on my .221 Fireball brass.:D Works as designed.
Sent a note to XHG asking about mods to the funnels. Didn't seem too concerned about them NOT working for me SO, I returned the set and the special rack that holds them. They also mentioned that their stock inventory was the same size as the ones I had. :( My thinking is somewhere down the road, someone else may run into the same problem.

Did a little research and found small powder funnels at Robert W. Hart Company. Just a little over 1" OD. Fits under the powder measure and stays ON the case neck.
Ordered up a couple in 20 and 22. Got them and found out they had the same problem fitting on my case necks.
Sent a note and was told "send them back along with a couple of cases in the caliber you're working with and we'll fix you up". Less than a week later and at no extra cost, They fixed me up!! Got my "modified" funnels back and they work like a CHAMP!! Each was opened up to fit MY cases.
In this shooting game/hobby, one size doesn't always fit all.;) If you want shooting gear and Quality Customer Service, Robert W, Hart & Son. Inc. is the place to do business and spend your hard earned $$.

That's great customer service. Nice to hear a good story!
I get my "small funnels" from my doctor. Those things he looks in your ear with.

I've got a Satern brand funnel in 20 & 22 cal, work fine for 204 & 223 standard cases. Not sure how they would be for your situation.

Also have Saturn funnels. Too big for my application. Theses Hart funnels are only 1" across and are real easy to handle.;)

I've been using the small caliber ones from good old RCBS. Do they fit perfect? No, but, I fixed that. I put a case from my .20 Practical in my vise. Heated the case up with a torch and then stuck the funnel on it. Took a couple of times before I got the case hot enough to reform the funnel opening to fit the case. Didn't want to get the case so hot that it would completely distort the funnel opening. Works great and no spillage! Twisted the case, ever so slightly while doing this to keep it from possibly 'welding' itself to the plastic. Don't know if they would stick to each other without twisting.

I roll my own.. After getting one from Hart for my 22-250... I use my reamer to finish the neck Diameter/shoulder set.

Soon to make a 20cal...

I had the Hart funnel for my 308 and found it would not fit the case, so I opened it up on my lathe and all was good. Ordered one from XHC and it fit perfect. Later on a friend wanted to try it before he bought it and the EHC would not fit his cases. Come to find out, his case necks needed to be turned (8 loadings).

Here is my solution for a small funnel.

Funnel from Amazon $4.07 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E3E329A/?tag=accuratescom-20

Brass tubing from a model airplane shop. It comes in 12" lengths, and diameters that just slide inside of the next largest, so you can make any size fit. I found a size that fit the funnel, then placed smaller and smaller tubes into it, and the last tube I flared out with a tapered round punch to fit the 6PPC case. I then glued it all together with thin cyanoacrylate ( Crazy Glue). I tapered the inside and cleaned it up with a chamfering tool.
I like the metal funnel, as it doesn't collect static, and it fits in my tool chest nicely for reloading at the range.
