Small base die for 30 BR

I don't see on the net anybody making a 30 BR small base die. Tried using the Redding body die but it doesn't help me. Tried using a .308 SBD. That didn't do the job either. Anybody have any good ideas?

I use a 45 ACP die for my BR brass.
If a 308 small base die did not help this may not.

Have you tried a thinner shell holder to size further down the case?

If a small base 308 didn't solve your problem, the base/case body dimension may not be your problem. jd

Hedditch , I got stuck with one bad chambering job on a 6mmBRX pre-fit. I ended up using my oldest 243win FL die to get the base sized down enough to get a smooth easy fit. .473 is standard base, that old Lyman die when measured on my caliper came in around ..467". I hope that helps. Mike in ct

I would like to thank everyone replying to my post. I put the 308 small base die back into the press and screwed it down until the handle of the RCBS Rocker press cammed over. I still couldn't close the bolt on the case. Then I ran the case through my 30 BR body die. The case fit! I just had the 30 br re-barreled and I am getting the old brass and loaded rounds to fit. After going through the two die process with the loaded rounds all I had to do then was run it through the bullet seating die to set the bullet deeper.

Charles Huckaba showed me his home made small base die. All you need is a standard full length die. and drill out the neck to the shoulder size. Cut about .050 off the base of the die. You now have a die that only sizes the body and nothing else. You adjust and size to get your proper amount of body sizing.
