Over the last few months The Sloughhouse Benchrest Club expanded their competitions by incorporating the use of electronic targets. For those of you that aren't familiar with e-targets here's a quick overview.
Electronic targets is an automated scoring system that records shot placement on a target, and after analyzing the placement of those shots assigns a score to the shooters efforts. In Benchrest Competitions it essentially eliminates the need of having multiple people down range assigned to marking and scoring your targets. Once the e-target session starts the shooter can see each shot just moments after he shoots because the shot locations and running scores are displayed on a tablet or laptop which is on the bench next to the shooter. Its a very convenient way to shoot and get almost instant results, and a lot of competitors enjoy e-targets because it eliminates the need for someone having to lift the wooden target holder multiple times for the shooter.
That being said, 2 recent 1000 yard competitions were held in Sloughhouse California (right outside of Sacramento), and here's the results of those matches. The scores were pretty impressive considering the winds they get In Sloughhouse.
