Sling for prone shooting

I'm in the market for a new sling. I currently use a Kurt Thune sling that is a quality product , but the buckle sits on my wrist and creates a pressure point. Any recommendations for a new sling?

Which model Thune do you have?

Perhaps yours can be re-configured to move the buckle away from your wrist?

My sling choice the past few years has been one of Tubb's 'Heart-breaker' leather designs.

You might also want to look into Wayne Stalling's RightSling (under Products heading):

You end up deciding you don't want the Thune anymore let me know; I may be interested in taking it off your hands.

Spclark , i have the kurt thune uit model 2. I'll check out the rightsling, I use the rightsight and there range cart. If I find a replacement sling I'll send a PM about the thune.

I have been very happy with my Sauer. I have the one with the thumb wheel tension adjustment, which scratches the shit out of my stocks, but it makes adjusting tension as position brakes down very easy.

I have been using this sling from Champion's Choice for years and have been very happy with it. Comfortable and easy to adjust. I have one attached to my coat for mid-range prone and have a second that I use for sitting and prone in sporter rifle.

Singruki,
IF you can find one. The Tompkins/Sinclair BIOTHANE sling works real well! Low to no pulse issues. Virtually indestructible ( if I remember right it has a busting strenght of like 1200 to 1700 pounds of force), easy to adjust and is not affected by temperatures at all. Hardware is all top notch.

Another vote for the RightSling. Not as many adjustments(a good thing?), very comfortable.

Jensen and sons, Creedmoor carries. Best sling I have ever used.

You have an excellent sling and the buckles can be moved around. Take some time to study what you have and then move the hardware to fit you better.

I prefer a "no pulse" design for prone shootin' by Jensen & Son available thru Creedmoor Sports.

A circus rifle(service) sling configured to a no pulse configuration works well also.

Don't defeat the intent & tighten your slings arm strap to become a tourniquet!

Adjust the stocks handstop/cheek piece & buttplate to fit you not vise versa supported by bone structure not muscle mass.

Chip,

Do you know of any videos on line that show the basic use of the sling cuff combo?
I've used the regulat 2 point in the past playing around with position shooting but am in the market now for a little 22 sporter that I want to do more of that style shooting with.

It seems like folks are getting away from the cuff type slings and going more with the Tubb or Tomkins style and width.
