I think youre thinking of a different part. This is kinda funnel shaped and sits inside the spring. It has a nub that goes up into the hole on the sliding plateIf it is a solid pin use the shank from a fractional, number or letter dril that is the appropriate size for a press fit. If a roll pin MSC, Fastenall, Grainger or a local mill supply house.
A basic set of in gauges has provided many with an emergency pin that has fled the scene.
Thanks for the education! I "assumed" it was a retaining pin of sorts. Clever design and more reliable than the spring and ball used on some less expensive actions. May investigate turning a similal piece from hardenable material to retrofit a Savage bolt head that had the ball lock up on the 19th round of a 20 round match jamed the plate and wouldn't allow the last round to chamber. Have since fitted a larger ball which is functioning fine.I think youre thinking of a different part. This is kinda funnel shaped and sits inside the spring.
