Sliding Comb - Who can do it?

Hey guys,

I had a R.A.D. 2A device installed on a PRT Lowboy stock by David Hart.

I found out about the R.A.D. 3 device a "sliding comb".

The rifle stock moves reward during recoil but the cheek piece (comb) stays fixed allowing a cheekweld with reduced influence on the rifle's free movement during recoil.

I don't shoot free recoil so the R.A.D. 3 lets me have the best of both worlds.

I waited over 6 months hoping David Hart would be able to install the R.A.D. 3 (sliding comb) we finally resolved it would be better to move on with the project and revisit installation of the sliding comb.

The rifle is due to get painted in a few weeks so I followed up with David Hart a few days ago and he told me he has too many pokers in the fire and it would another 6 months before he would even consider installing the R.A.D. 3 (sliding comb).


So here is my question: Does anyone know where I can get a sliding comb installed on my rifle?

It's actually more accurate to have no cheek contact with stock. As long as you take the parallax out it doesn't matter where your head is. I keep my scopes inches above the action so I can't touch stock. Matt

I've tried and tried to shoot free recoil. Laying prone and the angle I have to keep my neck becomes painful and I start pouring sweat. Often I come off my rifle to take a break mid string.

It's a bigger distraction than help.

There's a guy over on Sniper's Hide, Joe Ducos aka - Stockdoc that does a bunch of adjustable comb installations and has an excellent reputation over there.
No idea if he can do what you want but, it would certainly be worth asking.

Thanks for input. I'll try those guys out I'm not sure that they install sliding combs, but it's worth a shot

Both Joe and Alex were extremely helpful.

I would have to provide the sliding comb. I'll keep researching. I'm going to call Graco and Soft-touch
