SKB cases warranty- any experiences?

It sounds to me like you have been subjected to some jackass that hates firearms and needs anger management. One can encounter that just about anywhere. In the future you can try putting a bunch of Obama stickers on your case or better yet a big Hillary sticker. Even the most hardened idiot would not want to risk her passionate embrace if rudely awakened.

Sounds obvious but have you tried calling?

Those other cases look like Americases used by competive mostly by competive shotgun competitors but they do make rifle cases and will make custom cases as well or at least used to.

No those other cases are real deal ziegel cases. 20+ yrs old. The 2 big ones are custom made for br rifles. They sit down into the case and have interiors made to fit the flat forends.

Anericase will build one like that. no idea of cost. they build the Kreigoff rifle cases that are similar to what you have. I would guess it would not be much more than that skb case.

I can't find on the website where they are TSA approved. Having said that, it's been my experience that aluminum cases used for airline travel get dented and beat up to the point of not being usable. That's the reason 99% of traveling hunters use the plastic cases.

Edit: You'll pay overweight/oversize baggage costs if they are TSA approved and it will be enough to buy an SKB. A friend of mine found that out on a trip to Africa. IIRC, the extra fee was around $200, one way. On top of that, the baggage monkeys bent the hell out of it. With the empty weight at 35 pounds, add scoped guns and you're lugging around a 60 pound plus piece of luggage. They are just too damn big and unwieldy for traveling by air.

When I was shooting skeet competive and traveling I never had an issue.

Looks like they kicked it out of the cargo hold during final approach.

Interested in how this pans out. I picked up an SKB case for my bow and will likely travel with it this fall. Felt pretty confident about it until seeing this :(

Didn't SKB merge with or get bought out by Pelican a few years ago? If they did you could try and call Pelican.

well, still no contact from SKB. and I have sent them more emails with not even an automated response. too bad as I've bought 2 more cases for my new shotguns without even checking on an SKB case- one was an intelcase and one pelican copy from cabelas. talk about some nice cases!

Did you call them?

Are you on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter? Sometimes some pictures and tagging will spur a response. Worth a shot.

I was trying to go the email customer service/contact us route so they could answer at their leisure. Im a member of facespook but havent opened it in years. I bet my farmville farm looks like chernobyl now

This sucks. I have one of their cases and its not holding up well either. I might have to start calling them too. Got any contact info?
