SK Pistol Match

Didn't know you buy directly from them would have thought you would have to go through one of their retailers ??
What it is.. i made the order through a wholesaler.. whom puts the order in to Capstone.. first i asked for 5 lots two boxes each.. i am informed later that they will only send out bricks.. so i ask for three different lots.. so that is three bricks..i receive them and test.. find a lot that is really working well.. esp in the quiet wind! So i order two cases of that lot number.. when it arrived.. neither case was the lot number i asked for.. So i called the "wholesaler" back today.. complained..after that.. They called back and stated that they are going to send me return labels for the ammo sent.. I asked again about the lot number i had requested.. they didn't know if it was in stock.. so they called again.. and was confirmed that they have it..

So now i have will have gone through another week or more.. and the aggravation of having to ship this back.. wait for the other.. when they could have just sent what i had asked for..

So this leads to one of two things.. Lot numbers don't mean anything.. the people at Capstone are just going to pack and send the first case they grab without concern the lot number you requested.. or.. the wholesaler that i made the order through didn't relay the lot number.. but my understanding that they had indeed made sure that the lot number i asked for was given to them.. they just didn't send it out.. which in turn means that the folks at Capstone.. just grabbed the cases that were the nearest to them and shipped em!

Glad to see your getting it worked out maybe suppliers will realize that 22 rifles are sensitive to lots

Well that is not good, as all lots that are tested at Mesa, AZ(very soon, after what is in Mesa is sold out) will come from the new warehouse in MO
someone is not going to be happy if they test and order say 2-3 cases of Midas+ and get sent the wrong lots!

I'm hoping that this was a one-time mistake, something that the guys at Capstone won't let happen again. Because if it's more than that, like something that's going to happen on a regular basis - for whatever reason - Lapua may have to re-think their strategy on letting Capstone handle all U.S. ammo sales.

Yes, it would be rather horrid if it turn out that way.. Esp if the lot they requested was no longer there!

Yes, i am thinking as like you, i hope that it was a mistake, but one that needed to be accounted for, so that folks at least are aware that it happened.

As for their strategy, one thing i can attest too.. on your first order, you going to find out how much they charge the wholesaler for the stuff!

The dealer I use Clint Swigert actually lowered his price, not a lot but again he could have just left it the same. reason he said there is not distributor so he saves a little and pasted it on to shooters

You can ask him for pricing on other stuff he doesn't carry. I ask once about SK rifle match which he doesn't carry all he did was check his cost from the supplier and figured what he would sell it to me for.
ask him next time, for him it is just an email or phone call to Lapua.

i will keep that in mind, thanks

I have shot a lot of both. Seems to me that SK is very "lot" dependent. Usually my rifles shoot the Rifle SK better than the pistol. I got some SK+ that outshot them all but the next lot, not so.
