SK or other Rival Lapua Center-X?

is there any SK or other brand 22 ammo that shoots as well as center x ?
Not across my 3 rifles. With the lots I have, this is the best order
1. Center-X
2. Eley Black Box
3 SK Rifle Match

I had read about some folks having good groups with SK Semi Auto, so I tried some. Shot it a few weeks ago at 100m and here is how it did in my rifle.

1) SK is made by the same factory that makes Lapua. It's reasonable to assume that the odd lot of SK Rifle Match is equal to Lapua Center-X, but I'm sure the worst lot of SK is worse than the worst lot of Center-X.
2) No one grade ("SK Rifle Match", "Lapua Center-X", "Lapua X-Act") performs consistently well in all guns. Some lots shoot well in a wide variety of barrels, some barrels shoot a wide range of ammo lots, but there is considerable overlap for between the performance of a variety of lots of match ammo grades, mostly coming from the lot.
3) One of the tightest groups on the 'braggin board' at the Lapua Ohio test tunnel was shot with SK ammo.
4) Eley can shoot tremendously well, but in my experience the bad lots are not very good and some lots are littered with rounds that fail to fire. Others claim to have had no issues but keep that in mind.

Sorry but you just have to fight through this for yourself. Buy your lottery tickets one or more bricks at a time and see what you get. Buy your tickets at a price point that makes sense for you.

In my last 15000 rounds tested I've found much more consistent lot to lot accuracy from 50-200yd with R50 and have found some really awesome shooting lots of RWS Special Match.... yes, I have some really good CX but I find more lot to lot consistency with R50. It's been my go to for a few years now

I have a Brno #4 that loves R50.

10 shot groups at 200yd 1.3" and 100yd 30rd AGG in the 0.3s. Hard to beat.

Some will say it's more expensive than CX. But with the lot to lot consistency I'm spending less not testing so many CX lots to find a stellar one... also, good luck finding let alone lot testing CX anymore.

SK match shot terrible in my rifles, and Eley Match shot well like Center X.
That past few years it seems like good lots of SKRM are harder to come by. But I haven't bought as many lots as I used to. What I have tried shoots decent but too many fliers. I have 4 or 5 bricks of various lots but none of it is anything I would use in a match. For any serious shooting it's all Center-X and Midas+ for me. I have a closet full of lesser ammo and that I use when I'm just playing around at the range

I actually had two different bricks of SK Rifle Match. Two lots. One shot great in my Anschutz and one shot decent. Had no flyers. The one lot shot as well as the Midas + I had. In this Anschutz. I actually had tried several lots of center X and none of it shot well in this Rifle, I actually gave up buying any center X. Midas + had always been good but the last two bricks two different lots were not that good. And that was in this Rifle, which really is not ammo picky and seems to shoot most anything well. I hope this changes in my UL Rifle because I got two bricks of center X. I picked up a lot of Eley match. As I have seen some have good results with it. Plus if it does shoot I might actually be able to get some more of it.
Actually to give you some figures the SK Rifle match would consistently give me .290-.300 5 shot groups at 50 Yards. Rivaling what I could get from Midas +. The other lot was .300-.350 at 50. And that’s about as accurate as that Rifle is. Not quite up to BR standards. But fairly accurate. I like SK Rifle match. So if you’re not seriously shooting competition it might be as accurate as your rifle is. But don’t think I didn’t take that last box I had to the line with me just in case things went sideways I had something to do. lol. I didn’t need it Midas + came through.

As mentioned many times, .22 rifles are very picky about what will shoot well but over all I have found my Anschutz consistently does well with SK Long Range Match and several others at my club have also gone on to it as well... C-X varies so much that the first lot I used shot well but following lots were from OK to shotgun...
The Sk LRM just suits my rifle and I buy it by the case so that I don't have to worry about lots changing on me but saying that it has for me been quite consistent.
Club has a 100 meter Fly Shoot that is a real challenge on our range after 11 O'clock when the wind picks up and a BR 30 that scores down, not up, if you cut the line...
The SK is good from 50mtrs out to 100mtrs and cost less than lots of other varieties.
At club level if you get a flyer in a box it is still good value as opposed to Midas+ or Eley Black Box.

Interesting. All the years I've been shooting Center-X I've never had a batch that was just OK to shotgun in any of my rifles. Some batches were better than others but even the worst lots shot well. They just had a few more fliers per box than I prefer. Overall all of my rifles shoot Center-X well, even my two Anschutz

I've only tried one batch of SKLRM and it was just ok in all the rifles I've tried it in. Seems like SKRM to me and typical of the price point. I'm sure I'll try some more at some point. Maybe I'll luck into a good shooting lot number

It really is an interesting thing with different lots, different years. I have never been a big buyer, like I would get a brick or two of this and few boxes of this and that of different lots to see if I could get something to shoot better than anything I had. I thought it was fun. I didn’t shoot any real competition and this maybe unusually accurate Anschutz I have. Over the course of six years or so. I had bought a brick of RWS Target Rifle and was shooting .225-.260 with it and was able to get another brick same lot. I had shot four or five lots of R50 and it never shot that good. I had like three boxes of Tenex that would shoot .180-.260 I have never had another lot of RWS Target Rifle shoot even close and I bought a few bricks of different lots and I Haven’t had any Tenex shoot that well since. So I do see the wisdom in if you find a good lot buy as much as you can afford. I’ll tell this story there is a guy who they claim has enough Eley Tenex you couldn’t shoot in a lifetime. He is really old and he doesn’t shoot anymore and I asked about buying some as I’m sure it’s older ammo. So I been working on it. But right now it doesn’t look good. His grandkids are going to blow it up plinking.
