Single shot question

I'm looking to convert a Winchester M-70SA to a permanent single shot. Does anyone out there in FORUMland know who manufactures a glue in adaptor to do this. Score High has temporary single shot adaptors, not sure this will work for a glue in conversion or not. About 20 or so years ago, I did a conversion on a Rem 700 action, and got the necessary piece from Brownells. I went through their web-site recently and couldn't find anything to accomplish this.

I made a single shot adapter which I then soldered in place. Could have glued it instead, I suppose. I did the same thing for a Ruger 77. Winchester did actually make a genuine single-shot Model 70 but it was a very limited run. I have seen exactly one. WH

You might goggle up Bob's Original Sled site and email and ask him about having or making one. He is in Berkley, Ca.

Things have slowed down here a bit so I called the gentleman at Score High to see about getting one of his bench rest followers for my Win M-70 SA. After telling him what I wanted to do, he said that his followers do not lend themselves to glue in application. He also told me that he knows of no one making what I wanted for this Winchester. He said that the most likely way to accomplish my goal is to make one or have it made, so now out come the metal saws and files and start "whittling" a piece to fit. Thanks to all that replied.

Davidson makes the glue in style. Ptg makes the nicest ones now. Heres the difference in the score high and a ptg. The score high is made for sitting on a follower. I glue them in all the time but its a pia to keep the glue from running into the action. The ptg hammers in and doesnt need glueimage.jpg

"The ptg hammers in and doesnt need glue"

Just put one of these in a Remington 700 on Friday. Slight beveling of the insert in the area where the front guard screw boss is and one tap with a brass hammer and it popped in tightly. No way it can come out once the action is bedded.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but have a question along the same lines. I have a used Remington 700 that has a glue in follower someone put in before I purchased it, it's a 223 and when you lay a round in the port and close the bolt it hits the edge of the barrel and will not load will the PTG style fix this?
