Sinclair rest and JJ rest

I'm currently using a Sinclair competition rest, what I'd like to do is retrofit a JJ top to my Sinclair base. For those whom have had both can this be done?
The reason I'm looking at this route is I prefer the heavier base of the Sinclair over the JJ base. I'm not sure if the weight makes a difference or not but I'm thinking it'll help in absorbing the recoil and for running the rifle fast in a match.

I don't know if it will work or not. I see a lot of people put the JJ on a bigger/heavier plate though. I'd like to see a Randolph Machine top on the Sinclair personally.
