Sinclair powder measure bottle adapter

I've seen these Sinclair powder measure adapters that then use a closed bottle hopper. I can't help but wonder if these sealed bottles are prone to a partial vacuum lock which would result in more inconsistent throws. My Dillon hopper lids have a vent hole and my RCBS Uniflow lids fit very loose, I assume for venting purposes.

Am I over analyzing again, or is a partial vacuum lock possible? 00j0j_7l4YaWUDvtP_0CI0t2_1200x900.jpg 00l0l_4XosTQsMH4v_0CI0t2_1200x900.jpg 01212_jqHhkEFJHzM_0CI0t2_1200x900.jpg

I have been using Hogdgon bottles on my Harrels powder measure for years. Never experienced any vacuum lock.

No problem here either. I have a Culver conversion on my Lyman 55 for throwing 6ppc loads. And it's very consistent.

Well, considering the material inside the bottle in incapable of sealing off the orifice, I dont think it's something to worry about

I think over analyzing is the correct term.

I don't think a measure is airtight from bottom to top, so I doubt you'd get a vacuum lock. In truth, I doubt the threads for the bottle are airtight, either.

When you activate the handle, first thing it does is seal off the opening to the powder reservoir, then it continues to rotate to dump the powder contained in the adjustable cavity.

Powder in a perfect sealed vacuum will still move just like in a non-vacuum. And the powder is very porous, not like a liquid that could form a vacuum lock.
