Sinclair FClass Bipod Help

I have a 3rd gen Quick elevation model bipod and have noticed that the cant is off after each shot I fire. I set up on target level scope and lock the bipod. Shoot and the next shot I have to repeat the process again. Each shot. Everything appears to be tightened down. Called Sinclair and Tech guy told me it is the recoil of the 308 doing this and there is not a way to fix it ??? I have not read about this anywhere on the forums? So just curious if this is happening to anyone else.....

*308 win rifle, protektor custom rear bag, and the 3rd gen Fclass quick adjust bipod*

Yup, happens to me also. Not the fault of the bipod but rather an effect of recoil. I noticed several factors that contribute to this. A) If the natural point of aim is off. B) pushing/pulling with the shooting hand. C) bounce, if the bipod is on a hard service recoil will cause it to bounce. Sometimes you just gotta live with it.

Properly designed F TR bipod shouldn't have that as an issue.

YMMV

I had the same problem and I'll tell you how I fixed it. It's really pretty easy.

Call Dan Pohlabel and order a flexpod. Best bipod move I've made.

ill add my opinion to the matter go with a centershot bipod as you know i shoot 208 amax @ 2500 i got no issues

guess i'll see how mine works on sunday got one but havent shot it yet i dont shoot heavies (155gr) hope it works like i'm hoping it does

I think I should point out that I am using a Sinclair Gen 3 and do not have that problem and I am shooting 180gr bullets, if that makes any difference.

What is the bipod setting on? A mat or something hard? Maybe a piece of heavy carpet or something that will absorb some of the recoil force instead of something very rigid.

So for those with no parasites any thoughts on what might be the issue?

Andrew, you're asking us to diagnose a problem that we are not experiencing, so that makes it a little difficult.

So, the only thing I can do is to tell you how I use mine. Since the very beginning with my Sinclair Gen 2, I have been using a rubber mat bought at Home Depot for about $5. I actually use the mat to build my position on the line. Next, I line up my shooting mat off the rubber mat and then I set the rifle's bipod on the rubber mat. I set up alongside the rifle, with virtually no angle from the line of sight. When I fire the rifle, the stock slides nicely in the rear bag and there is barely any lateral movement and no twisting of the rifle in terms of cant. I has a level on the rifle to make sure the cant is correct for every shot and there is very little fix needed. I am able to watch my bullets impact on the target from 600 yards out, very little movement, if I do everything right.

I have a gen2 Sinclair. Under the cylindrical spacer, unscrew the pod lock, there is a Nylock fastener. This can be tightened or loosened to adjust the " drag" on the anti-cant. This combined with tightening the pod lock secures the anti-cant.

thanks. I will have to get me some sort of rubber mat to place bipod on. Maybe this along with checking the adjustment of bipod lock will help. I set up rear bag to target, then line the rifle up straight with it to the target and set it on the ground. I then get strait behind the rifle. My bipod jumps way off target to the left and the cant device on my scope show it moved a lot and have to mess with it to get it level again then lock it in.

I dont have a sinclair but a duplin. With a mat under the bipod if I am setup right, it comes straight back. If it is really moving side to side much, then my position is off.

I have some rise to the rear of my stock cause I did not want to bag pinch to get slight elevation adjusments. I might change it to straight because I do have to reset my elevation slightly each shot by sliding rifle forward or back.

The leftward movement of the rifle is something that I had with my prior F-TR rifle. That disappeared with my new rifle that has the PR&T stock which is almost flat and rides the bag very well.

The way I figured it is that a regular stock when pushed back on the bag, will go down under the shoulder and be pushed to the right so that the barrel will swing left. By having the stock pushed back but staying level, it goes straight back and the barrel moves very little.

took my gen 3 out to see if mine does that 20 rounds down the pipe and the cant was the same i shot it off a concrete bench with nothing but a towel under it . could be the fact the i only shoot 155's and rifle weights 17 lbs .

I use a small bath mat for my Gen III bipod to ride on, but I don't shot free recoil but shoulder the rifle and it stays on target nicely. I am straight behind the stock as well.
