Sinclair Expander mandrels

I recently found a Sinclair expander mandrel set that I bought long ago to go with my Forster hand neck turner. I just looked it up and the current models show -.002 for trimming and -.001 for expanding. All of the mandrels in my set measure -.002 but they are SS not carbide. Did Sinclair upgrade these at some time?

I don't remember ordering trim specific mandrels since my Lee collet dies make for a very good fit on the Forster pilots.

Where would you use this tool with the -.002 mandrels?

I thought the -0.002 mandrels were for neck turning as they had clearance to permit case rotation.
Carbide mandrels are quite pricey.
TIN coated mandrels are a step up from SS to try to avoid galling - which is an issue with plain SS expander mandrels.

I've bought the carbide mandrels. Not cheap but should outlast me! 0.002" under seems to work well on the cartridges I've tried them on.
