Sinclair Competition Rest Upgrades

I have a few upgrades. One is the flexible ammo block that was added to the rest. Also included is a hard case and a bag block with a level. Not a mark on rest. If you are interested, you pay me for the NIB Sinclair Competition Rest 749-101-023WS @ $650 and you pay the shipping. I will include the front bag, hard case & the port level ammo block. No additional discounts available & no PayPal. View attachment 1132997

What case and model # is this?

The case is a Browning & the Sinclair/Brownells rest is NIB. The Sinclair Competition Rest model # is 749-101-023WS.
Ben

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Regarding the case, can you be a little more specific? Does it have a particular name, model # etc.? Also, what are the inside dimensions of the case.

One of the best mods I have done is to machine the elevation slot on an angle so you can set it high then as you slowly back off the elevation lock screw the post slowly slides down instead of dropping all the way to the base. They may be doing this on the newer models?? Works great for me.

Doesn't it turn the bag?

Pictures please.

You could just get a JJ if you like that type of rest. It doesnt need “fixing”
The JJ Rest is a work of art, smooth as silk due to the late John Loh's supreme machining capabilities. However, for long range br rifles with longer fore-ends the windage is to far forward to be ideal. The Sinc. Comp. with mods is far better to me. windage and elevation close together just in front of your rear bag is priceless to me. Barry.

Why does it matter? The rest fits that case perfectly. The case only goes with the rest. Too much chatter for me, I will just keep the unit for now.
Sorry it didn’t work out,
Ben

WOW!! You really got your panties in a wad over a simple question. I simply wanted to know what brand case and model number it was. I have a rest identical to yours and have been looking for a good case to put it in.

.006” over 2+ inches is not much. Allows you to get the elevation you need with one hand. Loosen slowly and rest will come down controllably and not just fall. Works for “coarse” adjustments Once you tighten the lock back down the bag is back in line.

Relook at post #21. The info I have on my case is clearly noted in post #21.
Ben

Why do you need to be such a jackass about that? Looking back, you didnt even post #21.

The op of this thread was asking about sinclair comp rest upgrades(meaning he already likely has one), and you tried to turn it into a classified ad for your rest. The good of that was someone liked the case that you had pictured, and asked about it. The ONLY information you gave on it that I can find was that its a browning hard case. When he asked for more you just got all pissy about it.

Is it really that hard to give the model number when asked, or just say that you dont know the model number if you dont? Lifes too short to be so angry.

Here is another rest that has the “bevel” in it as well. This knob is sensitive. Wish I knew how to post video, maybe it would make more sense.

Thats pretty clever, nice work. I may have to do that as well!

One thing I addressed was to put a set screw into the windage adjustment, and put a piece of plastic between the set screw and the windage threads. That way if you push the rifle back into battery a little too quickly, it doesnt end up left of the target (requiring you to readjust)
