I can vouch for most of the F&C mods. I have the fine speed screw, the windage preloader, and the wrench. They work very well, I'm impressed with the first two especially.

The base plate really opened up the rest stance and moved the elevation speed screw where it’s more comfortable for me. Great mod....

The precision adjustment screw. Do you just take out the original and screw in the new? No other mods required? How do you like it? Do you see much of a deference between the factory screw and this?

Has anyone used the spring loader? Thoughts on it? Does it make much of a difference Are there any special mods required to the base or does it just bolt on?

I have the spring loader installed, and it does help. When moving the windage it stays in place, where before it kind of stutter stepped around. Same with the new speed screw, before when you moved the old screw it was pretty jerky motion. Now it's not like that.

I'm happy with both items.

You could just get a JJ if you like that type of rest. It doesnt need “fixing”

Theyre around all the time. I sold one on here. Put up a wtb ad and see if somebody has one for sale

One of the first times I saw extra springs on a rest it was a JJ. Its owner also owned a high speed video camera.... Just about everything we use can be improved.

Too late for me, I already added the parts. I had never heard of the John Loh rest until this thread.

I see more of them out there than the sinclairs. Both seem to work well for that type rest

I bought it last year not long after I started shooting benchrest. It replaced a Caldwell Rock BR so it's a major improvement. The Rock never leaves my garage these days.
I've thought about the joystick top that Butch Lambert sells, but that would bring the price of the Sinclair close to a SEB with those improvements.
I'm just shooting club matches with no inclination to go further, so it works for me.
