Does anyone have a photo of how the windage adjuster is set on this unit? Specifically what does the knob thread into and push against?

Pushes against a post that is bolted to the base. Remove the spring housing and then remove the pivot screw and entire center column comes off.

Thanks I am playing around with a similar setup but was curious if I was thinking about it correctly.

While you have it apart put a real spring in it and some grease, I used an old firing pin spring . Mine started to have erratic windage movement the drum inside made of some junk plastic was worn. A friend turned me one out of delrin and also the button on the end of the adjustment knob. I put it back together with Mobil One bearing grease. I am sure it will outlast me. I also now have about triple the windage adjustment.

I've made my own extended version of the sinclair to be better fit for longer BR stocks. Gets the controls in a comfortable spot. I got a few disassembled pics, but not showing in detail what you are looking for, but may be helpful to you...
