I have a new Nightforce Competition 15-55 scope, and have taken it to the range and zeroed it in at 100 yards.
I am trying to zero the current setting (this version of the Nightforce Competition, unlike the 2014 model, does NOT have the ZERO-STOP).
So when I loosen the set screw on the elevation knob, and turn the knob, I still get "clicks". I tried pulling the knob out but it does not seem to want to move. So any rotation of the dial gives me "clicks", which, as I understand it, is not supposed to happen.
From the directions:
"The elevation and windage adjustments can
be set to the zero position on the number
Set Screw dial once you have zeroed the riflescope.
To do this, unscrew the dust cap, then loosen
the set screws on the elevation and windage
adjustments using the supplied Allen wrench,
allowing the dial to turn freely without chang-
ing the actual setting.
Align the zero point on
the number scale engraved in the adjustment
with the center line engraved on the rotation
scale underneath the adjustment."
What am I missing?
