Simple question.... hopefully simple answer

Not 100percent but I really like the ones that Alex Wheeler are doing. The foam filled with the adjustable rudder. Not sure on the actual name. I have been reading a lot about those. Do you have a suggestion? The lighter I can keep the stock the more barrel I can have is the way I see it. I am VERY new to this. But it is happening and I look forward to this being a community build. I will keep this thread and we will see how it comes out in the end.

What is the lead time on them? Would you happen to know.

Mine is subject to normal McMillan lead times as it’s having a full inlet done by them, If you contact Alex wheeler I’m sure he could give you a more accurate answer than me..

Thanks a bunch, I will do that

Thought you were already leaning toward a fiberglass LRB .....

My mind is all over the place after I got to digging. During the last conversation I was...... or so I thought.

The thing that turned me towards Wheeler was the rudder system. I think that is the cats meow. But I think the front of the stock may be to specialized for me. I want to be able to shoot any discipline.

I am wanting to build a benchrest rifle. Keep it under 16.5 lbs and would like to shoot 600-1000 yards. It will be a 6mm bra and will probably have a bat action and a McMillan stock. I just don’t know what barrel contour I need to maximize the round. Can any of you fellows help me out with this length and contour question. Thanks for listening.

OK - didn't know your requirements changed.

Let me tell you what I got so far.
Borden Action
6mm HV
Jewell Br trigger

I have just seen where Alex has the 4” forend. It is awesome. I really don’t know enough to have a conversation as you can tell. That is why I have you fellows. But I think some of the disciplines will not let you shoot with that wide of a forend. I tracker or st1000 gives me more options if I want them.

Alright here is the update on the final parts list.

Borden brmxd lbdp
8” #17 kreiger 6mm barrel ( 6 dasher )
Jewel 1.5 oz trigger ( blueprinted by Jim B )
Shehane st1000 stock ( on order )

get stock in in a few months and get this rascal shooting.

Post up pics when you've got it together! Jim builds some real nice guns. I just put down a deposit on another one from him. It'll be my second Rimrock and I'm really excited for it to arrive.... In four months haha.

Jim made the action. I have a local smith putting it together. Knowing what I know know I wish I would have just sent him the barrel. I will post pics when it is done. This has been an experience putting this together and learning the br game.
