There should be something like cheap seats at a concert here. A little sting is better than a bite. Those that leave were never going to pony up a couple of bucks to begin with.

Boss: We have looked at a 6 month bronze membership, but I can't get software guys to write the code because it's not just a simple "add-on". None of this functionality comes with the Forum. Everything requires a custom plug-in.

One solution would be to take ALL the classifieds "off-site" to a separate buy/sell site. Then we could charge by transaction etc. But that really hasn't worked for other hunting/shooting sites that tried it.

Well, I reckon it's simple, silver and gold. Those that will be come paid members will be paid members and those that will not, will not.

There have been creative suggestions made here.

But I think we shouldn't lose focus. In a matter of seconds, any member can upgrade for $25 for 12 months -- that's just $2.08 per month. [Update: Silver is now $30 per year.]

That same $25 would cover ONE single $550 sale on Gunbroker. Just ONE.

One Gold member who posted in this thread made 23 sales since the start of June 2018. I'd say he got his $50 worth.

I think we don't need to shame anybody in this thread or another.

But there are key points to be made that all non-supporting members should consider.

1. This is a rather unique Forum, which enjoys the participation of some of the finest rifle shooters on the planet, including many national and world champions.

2. People come here because they find something interesting or of value. If they did not, our membership wouldn't have increased 34.5% in since 2017.

3. Silver or Gold -- they are both a good value, and the sale benefits alone justify the cost. So even acting in your own self-interest, there's reason to upgrade.
