Always interesting to see how people can hunt Outside of the US. Really like the bubbles trick for wind. Why not a powder wind checker?
I started using talkum powder many years ago, but I'm so often wet it'd just merge to a useless lump.
The bubbles are nice as they can float on the wind a lot longer. I find this especially usefull if the wind is swirling, often I can uncover if the wind turns again just a few meters ahead of me (meaning my smell never reach the deer even if I got wind in my back)
No, I shoot mostly 6,5x284 now and shoot the 140gr Amax at around 840 msec (2750 fps). My new load which I'll start using in 2015 looks to be around 2900 fps. I bascially haven't tried any other bullet than the Amax for many, many years now - it works so well for me and is cheaper than almost anything else so I haven't really investigated anything else.. I have noticed though that many new bullet choices have arrived since I started using Amax perhaps 10 yrs ago.
