Silencer/Supressor plans

Hi all
Anyone got plans, drawings suitable for a 223 rem? I have seen some good ones for sale at around $700...way out of my budget for a can though. What was nice about these, is that they were tiny, not a huge lopsided can at the end of your barrel.
I have a lathe, and some sparetime on hand.
Thanx

and a signed form 1 right? I hope your sheriff was nicer than mine... no way in hell he will sign one and provides no justification...dang it.

lazylabs, look for the "trust method". A simple internet search will likely get you a few forum threads like:

I'm not too familiar with this since I don't live in the US. But in the essence you'd be forming a trust, and buying the silencer for your trust. But be very careful and don't try to cut any corners!

I have too heard there's some places with sheriffs who refuse to sign because "our boys want to hear when they've being shot at, so we agreed with all the sheriffs in this area not to sign!".

To me it sounds like pure BS and abuse of power and position. The "trust method" allows you to circumvent this.

As far as plans, check with your local Military surplus stores, the goverment released their manuals on silincer theory, manufacture and materials several years ago. Email me and I can get mine out and give you the numbers off of them.

The size of the can is going to be determined by the effeciency of the baffel system and that ranges from an internal tube with holes in it to flat washers to the more complexed desgines like the Omega, Aztech, and some of the mono core desgines.
The Tac-16 is a 7" long 1.5"OD can that threade on the end of the barrel and its a simple desgine of just flat washers and spacers, yet it will bring a 11.5" AR down to hearing safe levels. I have made a few and have found that a cone style baffel and spacer system to be very effective on high power rifles, the last couple I've made are quieter than any factory can I've been able to compair them to, BUT, they are a bit longer and wider making it a bit heavier but on a precision rifle that weighs 12-18lbs anyway the extra 12-16 oz that mine weigh over the better factory cans doesn't matter as i'm more concerned with effectivness.
Here is a link of some pattents, check through them and it'll give you some ideas of where you can go from their

Also here is a picture of a suppressor made by AAC, its their 2007 model 762SD which is a very effective unit bo9th on the 308 as well as the 223, and its a pretty simple desgine, as you can see its a series of cones, the first/blast baffle is a thick flat baffel that has an ramped hole
