Sightron Warranty Warning!

They have warranty outside the us as long as it was purchased through an authorized importer/exporter. In canada we have a few authorized dealers like Hirsch precision . All warranty work has yto be sent through these dealers.

Its only grey market if it wasnt brought into whatever country by an authorized dealer. They can track that by the serial number.

My scope was purchased through a legitimate supplier with warranty, but if outside of USA the warranty changes for sightron. I have learned my lesson and will read warranties with more caution in future (it even cost me $44 aud to send it back).

What changes? According to their website the international warranty is the same other than having to go through a dealer instead of direct.

Life time warranty does not mean your lifetime, but expected lifetime of the product , can be as short as 5 years , due to different legal standards the lifetime US is not aplicable to most of the world. (Lifetime in US in typicaly end up as 5 or 10 years in EU)

And for your info same story goes with most manufacturers, once the product is out of production its often no point in trying to repair it. Happened to my Burris and my friends Leica

Honestly lifetime warranty is very much mark of crap products ,crapier the product longer the warranty be it cars ,phones or scopes. ,cheap asian scopes are often not fixed but replaced , but we all pay the premium for that. chicom and Phillipino Scopes sold under US brands with lifetime warranty have 1:4 + ratio , factory price vs retail price ,for scopes much under 1K $ there is no point in repairing anything but simple superficial stuff. its a sub 250 $ scope that can be thrown in trash rather than waste technicians workhours.

Best scopes out there the euro and japanese top dollar stuff has minimal warranty , but you can still send in a 20y old Euro scope to have it serviced and most are way better than any lifetime warranty chicom scope with US brand sticker on it.

I would rather have the Sightron warranty than a Horus Vision warranty (1yr). Found that out after the effect. After 4 Falcon scopes later, if this one goes it will be a custom tomato stick.

I've sent a scope back under their warranty....No issues at all. Problems resolved in less than 2 weeks.
