High mount helps get your face off the stock. Scope is just as susceptible to cant low or high... scope cant just makes the tracking run off plumb. A canted rifle with scope attached causes more issues. For a fixed distance comp with sighters, this really doesn't matter too much.
I attach a level to the scope base,B-square) then level the rifle. Then align the scope's vertical c-hair with a plumb-bob,any weight) on a rope at 100yds.
