Sightron users??

I have been reading this forum for a long time and finally thought I would get registered and post a question. I have a 6x47Lapua build in the works and was thinking about getting a Sightron SIII 6-24x50. Would this be a good fit for occasional paper punching and trips to the pd towns? I do have a SII 6.5-20x50 and really like it and was also wondering if the SIII series is an improvement in glass quality or just more magnification and adj. eye piece focus? Thanks, TB

The SIII, SII Big Sky, and SIISS models share an improved lens Multi-Coating along with an improved tracking adjustment system that isn't found on the regular SII series.

I recently bought a SII Big Sky straight 24X kind of on speculation, and while I don't have a lot of time behind it, so far I am quite impressed. I have a Leupold 24 BR and a 36 BR plus a couple of 6.5 to 20 Nikon Monarch's to use as a yardstick and I feel like the Sightron is a darn good value for the money. One of the things that pushed me over the edge on buying it is that Midway currently has the straight 24X on sale for $400 and a $20 off for any order over $250... makes it a pretty good deal to try one out. The scope I got tracks extremely well and the optics are very good, I don't think you will be disappointed with the quality. Good luck, Chip.

I don't think you will be disappointed with a Sightron.I have six of them from 3x9 on a Benelli slug gun to a straight 36x.All the others are 6x24's.I use them in ground hog matches,600 yd matches and 1000 yd matches.I absolutely love them.
