Sightron SIII vs. Burris Signature

Sightron SIII 8-32x56 vs Sightron SIII 10-50x60 vs. Burris Signature 8-32x44

Thinking about swapping out the Leupold VX3 6.5-20x40 LR model off one of my 222's for a higher power option. Mostly used for punching paper at 400 yards or less, but eventually plan on shooting prairie dogs again when I get free time. I have a few US made Burris scopes and have been impressed with them. I don't have any experience with the Sightron scopes, or the higher power Burris scope. How do the 3 compare towards the top end of their magnification? Do they get dark when you crank them up? Obviously the Burris is a 1" tube, has a smaller objective, and is about 1/2 the price. I believe I can overcome the lack of adjustment with the 20 moa rail that is on the gun, along with swapping out to Burris rings with the larger offset inserts if needed. How does the glass compare on the 3 vs Leupold VX3 glass?

You might want to consider a different Burris - the XTR II 8-40x50. I have a build in progress that I bought one for, and it looks pretty good so far. It seems comparable in quality to the Leupold VX3 6.5-20x50 LRT scopes I've been using. I like the magnification range and that it's FFP. The 34 mm main tube does restrict the mounting options, but there are Burris Tactical sSignature rings that were just what I was looking for.

The 832 Burris is clear but u need a FCR and they have a heavy duplex for long range shooting but the clarity is great

I really like the S3 10-50×60. Clear to the edges at max power. Also have a 4-20 S Tac that is great. The STac also has a ton of vertical range

I've been shooting behind a SIII 8-32x56 on my LR BR rifle in 6 Dasher for several years, and have been pretty well satisfied with it. I keep the magnification at 32x most of the time while shooting BR VS matches, and seldom see the need to back off the power due to mirage. I bought one new, and another used (IIRC from a member here); both have been excellent. I had one of them on a BAT 3LL prone rifle in 284 Win, shot it quite a bit in 3x1000 prone matches at CRC near Byers, Co. several years ago, and on their flat 1000yd range, I did have to dial back on magnification several times. But it was still a very good scope for my purposes.

Have got 3 SIII;s 2 8-32 x 56,1 10-50 x 60, POOR Mans NIGHT FORCE,You can't beat for the Price with out spending another $ 1000 or more

I ended up buying a 10-50x60 and am waiting on the base to arrive tomorrow so I can get it mounted up. So far just looking through it I'm impressed.

I have the sightron your are looking at, no complaints. Have had a few Burris scores including euro diamond and tac but not the one you are considering. Best deal or reticle might be the decision? I do love the reticle I got on the s3, think Moa 2.
