Sightron scopes

I also like the 8x32 Sightron Scope and have a few of them. For a varmint rifle, I think 32 power is sufficient, but for my 1,000 yard rifles, I have 55 and 60 power scopes.

I use Sightron for my F/Open Rifles
8x32 on 600 yard Rifle
2 10x50 on 1000 yard Rifles
I find them Outstanding . I shoot them at the Scopes sweet spot 24 power .
That is the dot on the Power Ring .
Your eyes will tell you if they are right for you ?

On my F Open competition gun I have a Sightron SV 10-50x60 ED. It has the MOA-H reticle. I traded a Nightforce competition with a FCR-1 reticle for it. Both scopes have excellent glass however, I am getting on in years and my eyesight isn't all that great. In less than ideal conditions I had trouble seeing the very fine FCR-1 reticle on the target. The Sightron MOA-H is a heavier reticle and much easier for me to see in adverse conditions. Also when conditions get really bad I can use the rather large hashmarks to bracket the target center. The only drawback to the SV series scopes is the weight.
On my varmint gun I have an old Sightron SV 8-32x56. Originally it had a fine croshair reticle and 1/4 MOA clicks. I sent it back to Sightron and for less than what Nightforce charges for a reticle change, they converted it to a MOA-2 reticle and 1/8 MOA clicks. Now it is one of my favorite scopes. You cant beat Sightrons service.
As for the differences between the SV 10-50 and the Slll 8-32
1 price
2 weight SV is quite a bit heavier and bulkier.
3 SV is clearer due to better ED glass and a larger objective lens but the Slll isn't bad.
4 The SV obviously has higher power but the Slll is also available in 10-50. Where I live in SC there are very few days when conditions are good enough to use over 42 power.
5 the parallax adjustment on the SV is better.
6 both scopes track very well.
7 the SV has more elevation.
8 the old Slll scopes didn't come with zero stops. Zero stops are available on the newer ones.

the 8x32 is a great scope but a Burris 8x40 with the double ch is a little better,IMHO and 799 new at optics planet, sometimes 699. 8x40 burris is a solid scope..Burris has a 10x60 ed glass in R&D that may release

For my 22 RF benchrest gun and my air rifle benchrest guns, my choice is the Sightron S3 in 10-50X60 with the MOA-2 reticle. Can't beat these scopes.
