Sightron s3

I had a 4-20 stac that tracked great but for my eyes is a little less than stellar. I have sold it and wondering if the glass in the s3 models is much better. I never could get a razor sharp image from it. Thanks

I also have an STac 4x20. And I have an Siii 6x24x50 and a STac 3x16x42. To my eyes (read that twice - to my eyes) - the 4x20 seems dull, not vivid. The Siii is vivid and I like it. I haven't used the 3x16 much, but so far it seems as good as the Siii. I have never used all 3 side by side for comparison.

It is my understanding that the Siii is assembled in Japan. STac ffp is assembled in Japan and has a zero stop. STac sfp has no zero stop and is assembled in the Philippines.

That’s wild. Both of My 3-16 stac scopes is very clear. I even sent in the 4-20 to be checked out and Alan said it was one of the best scopes they had put on their tester. It just wasn’t to me.

That's basically what I said. My 3x16 is on a rifle I haven't shot much lately so I haven't looked through it a lot. I like it.

I have 5 Sightron scopes and several other “high-end” scopes. While maybe the Sightron SIII ED may not be as good optically as a NF. When considering the cost, the NF is definitely not 3x better at least IMHO.

I have a few Sightron's S-4, S-3 and PLR in 4-20. 8-32, 10-50. I have sold a few as well.
I go back to them when I need one. I also like some Vortex Models.
I am in the belief your eye's tell you what they like( my eyes in there 70+years). Then as long as they re-peat in adjustment your Home free.
I have looked thru many Nightforce Scopes at Matches never saw anything I liked,just me and my eyes.

I looked thru a $3700 Kalas it was great.
